My Starbucks Idea
I apologize for any inconvenience that i may have caused. i am currently doing an english project on this online community ''My Starbucks Idea" and there are a few more questions i would like to ask everyone involoved in this community and anyone can answer these questions. yours answers are greatly appreciated and will help my english project be successful.
1. What do you think about this website?
2.why is Recycling a big issue for starbucks
3. why does starbucks have to wait all the way unitl 2012 to finally go recyclable.
4.why do u post blogs comments and ideas on this website.

1. I enjoy this website, but it could definitely use a few improvements.
2. I don't think recycling is a big issue for Starbucks.
3. Not sure, but I'm guessing that there are complications behind it. It probably isn't just as simple as adding recycling bins to the stores.
4. I enjoy it, and I want to help make Starbucks better. Being a twice a day customer, I care about Starbucks.
5. At times, it can detract from other things because I spend too much time here. The site definitely gives me my daily dose of laughter because many of the ideas people post are so ridiculous. Hope this helps.

I think this website is a great way to connect with others who care about the Starbucks experience, and a great opportunity for Starbucks to get a general sense of what customers want. There are some flaws with the mechanism, especially since all the old threads that pre-date negative voting have much higher point totals than newer threads. Also the blogs don't get enough visibility & use, and there are too many repeat threads which causes a variety of problems.
2.why is Recycling a big issue for starbucksRecycling is not a big issue just for Starbucks - It's a big issue for any corporation that wants to be responsible with limited earth resources. It's a part of corporate responsibility, and Starbucks is simply part of a larger awareness that it is happening with many companies all over the world.

Here in Seattle, there is already recycling at a number of Starbucks - just not paper cups. The challenge with the paper cups is that right now Starbucks uses a very sturdy cup designed to hold a very hot beverage and not fall apart. The cup has a thin plastic component to it which prevents it from being easily recycled in most cities. Starbucks could just switch to a cheap paper cup, but likely you'd see them following apart with very hot coffee in them. The real problem is not Starbucks, it is customers. There is a great need for customers to use their own tumbler and cut down on using paper cups. The first "r" is REDUCE not Recycle. I noticed that people only post comments on the latest gossip/news. My post had barely any views and no comments. I found that most people got on at night about the time the show goes off. I tried to repost about this time but still no luck.

4)How do you feel about teenage girls learning about relationships and sex from a community websit?
- if these girls are not getting the full story then there may be consequences, they need to know that if they get pregnant that a baby is an 18 year responsibility that will cost money. most teens cant take care of themselves how do they expect to take on the responsibility of another human being.(joyce)
-in a way yes and no. some girls don't have anyone but Gurl does sometimes act more like a friend instead of a guardian(camisha)
-yes and no. gurl is there to help but sometimes the truth needs to be told.(samantha)

-yes because it might lead to teen pregnantcy.(joyce)

My Observations (Faatimah Muhammad)
No one really cares about how the community functions as long as it functions. People just want to talk about the here and now and other issues they want to talk about.

Hey man, just lettin you know i sent out your request to some people. I'll answer your questions...
1. I was lookin for lifted Chevys for ideas and happen to run into cardomain so it was more like trail in error.
2, Not really sure. Most likely if they judge by performace instead of looks. For example, if you have a 1985 Chevy truck lifted for offroad use and a crappy body on it, come on who cares about the look and see how well it does in dirt.
3. I believe the blog posting should be reviewed before being posted for others to see just incase something is inaporpreiate.
4. Sure, why not? If people need help with something and need to ask a lot of people at once for an answer a message board would be key.
5. I think an IM would be cool to have here. Meeting friends is cool and having to wait for the comment to appear on your page or a message is a pain, an IM would be ideal.

5.) Could an instant message function benefit this site (like on facebook and myspace)? Why or why not?
Have no interest at all in instant messages on this site. If I want instant messages, I'll use MSN, Facebook or something else.
