My community has a similar trend the moderators start most of the forums and comment the most.
I finally received a comment and the person was questioning me on why I am using this website, but he gave me hints on how to improve my post. I learned through the interview that the members in this community are intellegent, considerate and somewhat untrusting of new people.
My observations lead me to put the members into two groups; nerds and gamers. The nerds post on anime, gaming, and intellectual inquiry forums and have higher scores on the leaderboards. The gamers post on all forums and usually have lower gaming scores.
